Building it!

The house is coming along! As I write this, we're waiting on cabinets to be installed and the walls/cabinets/trim painted. The siding is going up and it's starting to look more and more like a home. It's been a process for sure! One thing that I've learned is that you spend a few short days making decisions on every little piece of that house. Then months go by and you see something that makes you second guess every little thing. Our poor cabinet maker has had a few late-night emails from me. Oops. I've enjoyed that process though. It's really exciting to be able to put your vision into something like a home for your family.

Another exciting part about our house is our neighbors. We were blessed to have moved into our current house with some of the most amazing neighbors. Unfortunately, they both moved and the new neighbors, while fine, do not match up to what we would like our neighbors to necessarily be. Last week when we went to visit the new house we met the neighbors that live in the back of us. They have four small girls who they home-school. In talking with them, we learned that there are a few families in the neighborhood and even one family with a daughter who is old enough to babysit (score!). Everyone sounds so very nice and it makes the move even more exciting.

I hope to update this blog more often while we wait to move. Stay tuned!
